We purchased this about a year ago and have used it multiple times to transport wine by airplane as checked luggage. It does require you have a sturdy box and styrofoam wine shipper but, if you're into wine enough to buy this, that's probably not an issue. If you have wine shipped to your home, the standard box and shipper most wine arrives in fits perfectly. We've flown Delta, American, United and Southwest using this shipper and though we've occasionally been asked contents, or (once) asked to sign a waiver saying the airline was not responsible for damaged/spoiled contents, have yet to have a problem, either with being allowed to travel with it, or having the contents arrive damaged. The case itself has also held up great and still looks like new.Being able to take your own wine on vacation, in lieu of paying high restaurant/hotel cost mark-ups or taking your chances at a local wine shop, will cover the cost of this bag in less than a single use. It also doubles as a great transport home for dirty laundry or souvenir purchases once the wine inside is depleted. Or, if you're going the other way, and plan to buy wine to bring home, it can be folded fairly small and carried inside another case on the way out.All in all, a great purchase for serious wine fans.
